Part symposium - part think tank - part workshop.

On 6-8 September, 80 purposefully selected participants from across Australia gathered at the National Gallery Australia on Ngunnawal and Ngambri Country (in Canberra) for ARTLANDS 2023, marking 80 years of Regional Arts Australia.

Over three days, across five acts, they explored the transformative potential of regional creativity and tackled the challenges and opportunities presented by the provocation: The Future of Regional Australia Fundamentally Creative. Ahead of the gathering, RAA invited idea submissions in April and hosted a series of online Roundtables in June.

We were thrilled to work with the team at Regional Arts Australia again, following on from Artlands 2021. Our brief consisted of two projects; production and management the online Roundtables in June, and production and documentation of the National Gallery Australia gathering in September.

Being a fluid conversational event, it was likely that schedules, tech requirements, even venues could change on the fly. We planned for every possible scenario, accommodated and adapted, and worked closely with the teams from NGA and AVL Australia to deliver a seamless production.

Nick and James change the definition of a production company. They are professional collaborators that work with teams to deliver projects and programs that bring all elements of production and logistics together in a seamless way.

At an organisational level, they clearly communicate through all stages of the contract and a flawless in their ‘on the ground’ delivery. At a client level they work effectively and calmly to ensure all aspects are realised. They are open and responsive and form working relationships that are a critical part of events and projects.

RoundTable Studio have worked with Regional Arts Australia since 2020 and delivered two Artlands, national arts gatherings and a series of online programs. Their involvement has been invaluable. They have always demonstrated professionalism and diligence and been a pleasure to work with.

We look forward to an ongoing connection.
