Devonport Oval is a central hub for the region's sporting and community events, and its scoreboard has long been a key part of the experience. However, as technology advanced, the opportunity arose to upgrade the existing equipment to meet modern expectations. The Devonport City Council sought to transform the scoreboard into a versatile, high-resolution screen that could enhance the Oval’s functionality—not only for sporting events but also for community movie nights, sponsor TVCs, and live presentations. Alongside this, they identified the need to update the scoreboard’s ageing support structure to ensure safety and long-term reliability.

Structural innovation for safety and efficiency: Collaborating with local crane operators and steel fabricators, we relocated the entire screen structure to a safe worksite. This allowed for thorough inspections, remediation of corroded steel, and structural modifications to accommodate a new 16:9 aspect ratio screen.
Cutting-Edge LED technology: We sourced 6mm pixel pitch LED cabinets from Absen, prioritising brightness, durability, and longevity to withstand the Oval’s seaside environment.
Aesthetics and functionality: The new screen’s 16:9 ratio optimised it for modern video content and improved visual clarity, ensuring it could serve a variety of community and sporting applications.
Comprehensive project management: From production drawings and international freight to hands-on installation, electrical commissioning, and staff training, we managed every aspect of the project seamlessly.
